Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Auto Insurance FAQs collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you call or complete our request form, you may share details such as your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, the number of vehicles and drivers in your household, and whether you are currently insured. Share only what you are comfortable with. We will never ask you for a password or a full payment card number on this website.

Information from our request form

If you complete the form, we also collect the consent language you saw, the date and time, your IP address and browser details, and certificates from consent-verification services that record how the form was completed. This is used to have a licensed agent or partner contact you about auto insurance and to keep a record of your consent.

Call information

We receive the phone number you call from, the time and length of the call, and, where a call is recorded, the recording and any transcript.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting and measurement tools may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website and approximate location. This helps us keep the site working and understand how people find it.

2. How we use information

  • To connect you with licensed agents or partners who can discuss auto insurance in your state
  • To operate, secure and improve the website and our phone service
  • To measure which pages and campaigns lead people to contact us
  • To meet legal, regulatory and recordkeeping obligations
  • To respond to your questions and requests

3. How we share information

We share information only as described here:

  • Licensed agents, agencies and marketing partners. So they can contact you and help with your request. These are described on our Partners page.
  • Insurance carriers. When you choose to apply for a policy through an agent, the agent shares your application details with the insurer.
  • Service providers. Companies that host our site, route and record calls, verify consent or provide analytics, under contracts that limit how they may use the data.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, court order or to protect the rights and safety of others.
  • Business transfers. If we merge with or are acquired by another company, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Call recording

Calls may be recorded for quality, training and compliance. You will be told at the start of the call. Recordings are kept only as long as needed for these purposes or as required by law.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We keep a campaign identifier (called a sub ID) and common advertising click identifiers in your browser for up to 30 days so we can tell which ads, texts or links led you to us. It is not used to identify you by name.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for site operation, consent verification and measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some browsers send a "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" signal, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sharing where required by law.

6. Your choices

  • Do not call or text. Ask to be added to our internal do not contact list at any time, on a call or by email. You can also register at donotcall.gov. Reply STOP to opt out of texts.
  • Access, correction and deletion. You may ask what we hold about you and request that we correct or delete it, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Opt out of sharing. You may ask us not to share your information with partners where the law gives you that right.

To make a request, email contact@autoinsurancefaqs.com or call (800) 555-0101. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent to submit one for you.

7. State privacy rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and several other states have rights to know, access, correct, delete and opt out of certain uses of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. If you believe sharing with partners counts as a sale or sharing under your state law, you can opt out using the contact details above.

8. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or to comply with the law, then delete or de-identify it.

9. Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Please also review our Terms and Conditions.
